Real Ranch Talk: Women's Suicide Prevention Event – A Day of Healing, Hope, and Community

This November, we gathered for an impactful and inspiring day at Real Ranch Talk: Women's Suicide Prevention Event at the Wellness Ranch in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. The event brought together over 116 women for a powerful day of insightful discussions, engaging activities, and a shared commitment to mental health and suicide prevention.

The event was hosted by Angelica Manzo, co-founder of Wellness Ranch Equine Assisted Therapy, who led the day with passion, wisdom, and faith. Angelica shared valuable strategies and resources on how to support both ourselves and others during challenging times, while emphasizing the importance of faith as a foundation for mental wellness.

Raising Awareness and Breaking the Stigma

Our mission for this event was clear: to raise awareness about the critical issue of suicide prevention, to break the stigma around mental health, and to promote positive mental well-being for all. Through engaging conversations and a safe, supportive environment, we were able to come together as a community to share our stories, offer support, and spread hope.

Guest Speakers Who Inspired Us All

We were blessed to have an incredible lineup of guest speakers who shared their expertise, stories, and wisdom on mental health, suicide prevention, and wellness:

  • David Castaneda, co-owner of Thirsty Girl Coffee and Men’s community leader
  • Pastor Kenny and Pastor Sanaz from Patria Rancho Church shared messages of faith.
  • Dr. Hess, a functional medicine doctor, and Rae Hess, a functional nutritionist from Upstream Health.
  • Sabrina Ybarra, a therapist at San Gabriel Children’s Center
  • Sal Manzo, co-founder of Wellness Ranch
  • Gabriella Barrios, founder of Brutal & Beautiful leading worship
  • Celina Ochoa, manager of Packed Vision.

Each speaker brought a unique perspective to the table, making the event a safe and vulnerable experience for everyone in attendance.

Creating Safe Spaces for Healing

We also held two separate events—one for women and one for men—ensuring everyone had the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations within a comfortable and safe space. The women’s event was attended by 116 registrations, and the men’s event had 35 attendees, providing an inclusive environment for all to explore the vital topic of mental health from different perspectives.

Fundraising for The Wellness Ranch’s Therapy Mission

A major goal of this event was to raise funds for The Wellness Ranch’s Therapy Program, which works tirelessly to provide essential mental health support and resources for individuals in need. The Wellness Ranch uses equine-assisted therapy to help people heal from trauma, depression, anxiety, and other mental health challenges. The program is grounded in faith and dedicated to offering a safe space for those facing mental health crises. Thanks to the generosity of our attendees and supporters, we successfully raised funds that will allow the ranch to continue its mission of suicide prevention and mental health advocacy.

Thank You to Our Supporters and Community

We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended, supported, and helped make the Real Ranch Talk event a success. A special thanks to our speakers, volunteers, and donors for their generosity and commitment to making this event a safe space for healing and transformation.

Together, we’ve taken another step toward reducing the stigma surrounding mental health, providing support to those who need it, and fostering a community of hope and resilience. To think a space like this is located in the I.E of California is amazing!

As we continue our work, we invite you to stay connected with us for future events, opportunities to support mental health, and ways you can help contribute to the ongoing mission of supporting mental health.

Let’s keep the conversation going, break the silence, and continue creating safe spaces for all.
